Terms & Conditions
Welcome to Ratio Solver & Proportion Calculator (“we”, “us”, “our”), available at ratiosolver.com (the “Service”). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1) What this Service is
The Service is a free online ratio solver that helps you solve proportions in the form A : B = C : D. You can leave one field empty to solve for the missing value, or fill all four fields to check whether the ratio is true/false. Results update in real-time and you can control rounding using the Decimals setting.
This Service provides general math assistance and educational support only. It is not a substitute for professional tutoring, formal assessment, or advice for safety-critical decisions.
2) How calculations work
The solver uses the cross-product property of proportions: A × D = B × C. When one value is missing, the Service isolates it using the corresponding rearranged formula. If all four values are provided, the Service compares cross-products to determine whether the proportion is equivalent.
3) Your responsibilities
- Use the Service lawfully and responsibly.
- Verify results before using them for graded work, formal submissions, or professional decisions.
- Confirm you entered values in the intended order (A:B = C:D) before sharing or relying on the output.
- Do not attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, or overload the Service.
4) “Share Result” and clipboard
The Share Result button is designed to copy a short summary of your ratio calculation to your device clipboard for easy pasting. We do not receive clipboard contents unless you choose to send them to us (for example, in a support message).
5) Intellectual property
The Service’s design, calculator logic, text, and code are protected by copyright and other laws. You may share links to the Service, but you may not reproduce or redistribute substantial portions without permission, except as allowed by applicable law.
6) No warranties
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that results will be accurate for every use case, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free.
7) Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising from your use of (or reliance on) the Service.
8) Third-party services
We may link to third-party sites or use third-party tools (e.g., hosting, analytics, security). We are not responsible for third-party content, policies, or practices.
9) Changes to the Service and Terms
We may modify or discontinue any part of the Service (including calculator behavior, rounding defaults, related calculator links, or language options) at any time. We may update these Terms occasionally. If changes are material, we’ll take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, posting a notice on the site). Continued use means you accept the updated Terms.
